The GreenCo project is directly linked to the fight against digital pollution, a growing problem in our technological age. Digital pollution refers to the negative environmental impacts arising from the massive use of electronic devices, energy consumption and the production of electronic waste.
- Energy consumption: Data centers and telecommunications networks consume a significant amount of energy, most of which comes from fossil fuels. This consumption is a major contributor to CO2 emissions and climate change.
- Electronic waste: The production and disposal of electronic devices generates large quantities of toxic waste, which, if not properly managed, can pollute soil and water.
- Excessive growth in data use: Growing demand for online services and excessive use of electronic devices are increasing the carbon footprint and worsening the environmental crisis.
